What to include in a job listing
Use the real job title and describe the main duties in plain language. State whether the role is full-time, part-time, temporary, contract, remote, or on-site. Include the work location, hours, required experience, qualifications, application deadline, and how candidates should apply. A salary or range, when available, helps applicants decide whether the role is suitable.
Identify the employer or business accurately. Do not request unnecessary personal details in the public listing. Applicants should never be asked to pay a fee simply to be considered for an ordinary job, and no legitimate recruitment process requires a banking password or security code.
How service providers can write a stronger ad
Describe the exact work you offer and the areas of Guyana you serve. “Residential electrical inspections in Georgetown and nearby areas” is clearer than “all services available.” Mention experience, availability, what customers should prepare, and whether estimates or visits have a cost.
Use original photos of completed work only when you have permission. Avoid posting a customer’s face, home address, documents, or private information. If licences, insurance, or certifications are important for the service, state what you hold accurately.
Help customers understand pricing
Some services have a fixed price, while others depend on time, materials, distance, or complexity. Explain the pricing method and what is included. Written estimates can help both sides agree on scope, schedule, materials, payment stages, and responsibility.

- Research the employer or provider and ask clear questions.
- Confirm the workplace, duties, service scope, and payment terms.
- Request references or evidence of relevant work where appropriate.
- Do not send sensitive identification to an unverified contact.
- Be cautious with advance-payment demands and unrealistic earnings claims.
