Buying or selling a phone, laptop or other electronic item in Guyana starts with clear information. Buyers need the exact model, condition, included accessories and price; sellers need an ad that answers those questions without repeated messages. Use this guide to prepare a useful listing or plan your checks before contacting someone through ADSGY.
Create a listing that answers common questions
Include the brand, exact model, storage capacity, colour, age, and condition. For computers, add the processor, memory, storage, operating system, screen size, and battery information if known. For televisions, cameras, gaming systems, appliances, or audio equipment, provide model numbers and the most important specifications.
State whether the original box, charger, cables, controller, receipt, or other accessories are included. Explain repairs, replacement parts, cracks, battery issues, account locks, missing functions, or cosmetic wear. Never describe an item as new if it has been used or opened.
State the asking price in GYD and explain whether it includes the charger, cables, controller or other accessories. If delivery is available, say whether it costs extra. A title such as “Used Samsung Galaxy A15, 128GB, Georgetown” is an illustrative format: use your device’s actual model, storage and location, and mention faults honestly in the description.
Take useful photos
Photograph the actual device with the screen on and off. Show the front, back, edges, ports, accessories, and any damage. Remove personal information from the screen and background. Do not publish serial numbers, account details, identity documents, or other sensitive information in public photos.
Prepare a device before selling it
Back up personal files, sign out of accounts, remove SIM and memory cards, and use the manufacturer’s correct reset process. Turn off activation or account locks only when safe. A reset should never require giving the buyer your passwords or security codes.

- Screen, buttons, cameras, microphone, and speakers.
- Charging port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile connection, and battery behaviour.
- Keyboard, trackpad, storage, ports, and charger for a computer.
- Whether the device can be reset and activated normally.
- Whether the model and condition match the advertisement.
For an expensive device, take enough time to test it in a safe location. Be cautious with prices far below comparable listings, sellers who refuse testing, or requests for advance payment before you see the item.
